Industrial zones (IZs) in Hanoi attracted US$30 million in the first three months of this year, 2.5 times higher than the same period last year.
Intel Corporation, the world’s largest semiconductor chip maker, will open its 1 billion USD chip assembly and testing facility in Vietnam by the end of this month, an executive said.Intel’s investment in Vietnam is aimed at tapping growth opportunities in emerging Asia , Navin Shenoy, Intel’s general manager for Asia-Pacific, was quoted by The Wall Street Journal as saying on Oct. 14.
More than 30 Vietnamese leading scientists are divided in discussions in Hanoi on May 11 on the construction of a $55.8-billion railway project. Many, including Deputy Minister of Transport La Ngoc Khue, supported the project and said the project will make a breakthrough for the national economy.
